Ryan Cenk Eagle Project

Ryan Cenk is an 18-year-old Eagle Scout from Gibsonia, Pennsylvania who made a tribute to the victims of Flight 93 through his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project. He raised the money needed to purchase 15 teakwood benches and the materials for platforms on which they will be placed every 200 feet along the one-mile Walking Trail that nearly surrounds the Garden property. Each bench bears a special plaque with a message personalized by the donor. These beautiful benches are for anyone who needs a rest or wants a quiet place to meditate or pray as they walk along the wooded trail. Ryan earned his Eagle Scout rank on November 18, 2012, after years of Scouting fun and hard work, many leadership positions, 33 merit badges, and the successful completion of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project to benefit the “Remember Me” Rose Garden

Ryan would like to thank the many people and businesses listed below for their generous donations of time, talent, and treasure.

Teak Closeouts

Through the generosity of Teak Closeouts, Ryan was able to secure 15 teak benches at a tremendous discount. Teak lasts for 75-100 years, and will serve the visiting public well as a comfortable place for sitting, resting, and quiet reflection. The picture below shows one of the beautiful “Lutyens” style teak benches installed on its platform at the Rose Garden.

Teak Closeouts offers many fine teak furniture products in addition to the benches, and we encourage you to patronize them in return for their exceptional contribution to Ryan’s project. They can be reached at 1-800-270-4031, or visit their website at www.TeakCloseouts.com.
